the classic cello transformed into an E-Cello platform, but without feedback, open to new techniques.
At the request of a client, I developed an electric instrument in a classical appearance that gives the artist complete freedom in choosing the technical setup.
This led to the creation of a violoncello conversion based on my semi-acoustic models.
A standard cello, fitted with an open back and an integrated chamber, becomes an instrument that offers the artist maximum flexibility in technical configuration — entirely free from feedback. This makes it adaptable to future technological developments while also serving as a platform for sonic and technical experimentation.

Often there is an old practice cello available that is no longer used. Or a used or affordable cello can be ordered for the conversion.

Piattaforma – das klassisches Violoncello wird zum E-Cello
Auf Wunsch eines Kunden entwickelte ich ein elektrisches Instrument im klassischen Gewand, das dem Künstler die freie Wahl der technischen Ausstattung ermöglicht.
So entstand ein Violoncello-Umbau auf Basis meiner halbakustischen Modelle.
Ein Standard-Cello wird durch einen geöffneten Boden und eine integrierte Kammer zu einem Instrument, das maximale Freiheit bei der technischen Konfiguration bietet – ganz ohne Rückkopplungen. Dadurch bleibt es offen für zukünftige technische Entwicklungen und eignet sich zugleich als Plattform für klangliche und technische Experimente.

Der Umbau kostet ca.1000,- €
Oft ist ein Übe-Cello vergangener Tage vorhanden, das nicht mehr benutzt wird. Oder man bestellt ein gebrauchtes oder günstiges Cello zum Umbau.
